Resident proposes skate park; council asks to coordinate with staff and TVA

A resident, Trevor Branson of 319 Bussell Ferry, spoke during public comment to propose bringing a world-class skate park to Lenoir City and asked whether Lenoir City Park, which is leased from the Tennessee Valley Authority, could be a possible location.

The chair said the city would need to see a project plan and advised Branson to work with Zach Kuzic in city staff. The chair noted TVA is the landowner but that the site is leased to the city and that TVA approval might be required depending on the parks size and exact siting. Staff and Branson agreed to coordinate further and Branson said he had previously discussed the idea with city staff.

The council did not take action at the meeting; staff will follow up with the resident and provide guidance on process and potential TVA steps.
