Rules calendar: committee advances several housekeeping bills and study resolutions

The rules portion of the meeting moved multiple agenda items forward. Chair listed the picks (including SR771, HB115, HB244, HB945, HR1008) and a delayed motion from Senator Albers (seconded by Senator Robertson) was called; members voted by raised hands and the motion carried, with the transcript recording unanimous consent for that motion.

Presenters also introduced other bills during the session: HB61 (squatter reform) was presented as a measure to clarify and close loopholes exploited in hotel and extended-stay settings; HB983 (prescribed burning) was presented at department request to clarify prescribed burning and silviculture; HB485 was explained as a code-modernization and repeal package removing long-unfunded statutory provisions; and HB549 clarified reimbursement timing for law-enforcement training costs.

Several items were explicitly advanced out of rules and into the standing/regular process. Where recorded, motions were approved by voice or hand vote and will be reported or scheduled for further consideration.
