Oconto Falls board accepts resignations, recognizes retirees and approves new athletics director

The Oconto Falls Public School District Board accepted multiple personnel actions at its March 9 meeting, including resignations and retirements, and approved a new contract for athletics leadership.

District administration announced resignations including Brian Peterson (Abrams), a speech and language pathologist resigning after three years, and a resignation for a 5 K position at Abrams. The board recognized Laurie Rowland for a long teaching career and noted support-staff retirements (including Mary Angles) for recognition though some support-staff departures are not board-approved actions. The board moved to approve the listed resignations and retirements and carried the motion.

The board also approved the contract to appoint Jesse Jorgensen as the district’s director of athletics, activities and community engagement following a committee-led hiring process; members offered congratulations on the hire.

The meeting moved on to a compensation update and then to a vote to enter closed session for personnel and litigation-related discussion.
