Members of the Board of License Commissioners and the Town Council approved several license applications during the evening session.
Board of License Commissioners: The board reopened the public hearing on a nontransferable limited class B & T license for Upper Deck Baseball Academy (75 John C. Dean Memorial Boulevard) and discussed restrictions to beer and wine only along with the kitchen and food‑service requirements tied to the BNTL classification. Applicant Mr. Dean confirmed an estimated construction completion of about June 1. Commissioner Burulio said he would oppose because the business primarily serves youth; the chair and another commissioner voiced similar concerns. Following a roll‑call motion the license passed 5–2. The license remains contingent on required documentation including insurance, ServSafe, health, fire and building approvals and a letter of good standing.
Town Council (new business and renewals): The council approved a stock transfer for Shop Lakshmi (Pulls Fine Wine & Spirits, 132 Mendon Road) after applicant Nayeon Patel said she will acquire the remaining shares; the transfer will issue when a letter of good standing is filed (vote 7–0). The council also approved a hawkish (fireworks) license for Phantom Fireworks Eastern Region LLC for the Mendon Road site (vote 6–1, Councilor Shaw opposed) and handled grouped entertainment, firearm, kennel, private detective and other routine license renewals with no objections.
All approvals were conditioned as noted on required documentation or subsequent administrative steps.
