Mountain View committee advances Community Services Agency funding recommendation to council; vice chair recuses

Before deliberation on the Community Services Agency (CSA) funding recommendation, Vice Chair Chadwell announced they would recuse themselves because they serve on the board of the CSA and would not participate in the committee’s recommendation to council.

“Thank you, Chair Clifton. I am... Vice Chair Chadwell, am recusing myself from discussion of the Community Services Agency funding recommendations to use my position on the board of the community services agency,” Vice Chair Chadwell stated during the meeting’s recusal process.

The committee opened a public hearing limited to CSA funding and accepted an online comment from Milton Cadena of Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County. After public comment, Committee member Lester moved to advance the staff recommendation to City Council and Committee member McDonald seconded the motion. Chair Clifton called for the ayes and the motion passed on the record.

Chair Clifton then closed the CSA-only hearing and the committee proceeded with discussion and action on the remainder of staff recommendations once Vice Chair Chadwell returned to the meeting.
