Boerne commissioners told to reapply for reappointment; UDC workshop set for March 24

Commissioner Tim Van Wolf told commissioners that the reappointment process has changed and his understanding is that commissioners seeking reappointment must complete the full application used for original appointments.

"My understanding now is that each of you to be reappointed has to fill out an entire application just like you did initially to be appointed by the mayor and city council," Commissioner Tim Van Wolf said, urging colleagues to submit applications by the relevant deadline.

A staff member replied that they did not have a definitive answer at that moment and said they would "shoot something out" with details. The chair and staff discussed timing, with references to an application deadline in March and appointments typically occurring at one of the council meetings in May.

Commissioner Van Wolf also announced a Unified Development Code workshop scheduled for March 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the training room on the first floor. Commissioners received a monthly informational report described as helpful and a work in progress; staff invited comments and suggestions.

Staff did not provide further procedural deadlines during the meeting; they said they would follow up with commissioners by email or memo with specific instructions for reappointment applications.
