Mayor Davis thanks community and county staff after recent loss

Mayor Davis read a statement to the Bradley County Commission expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support his family received following a recent funeral. "On behalf of my entire family, thank you. We've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support over the past couple of weeks," he said, noting he had read "every single" message, card and prayer.

The mayor thanked residents and county employees who attended the service and offered condolences, saying that seeing how many lives Blake touched "has brought comfort in the middle of heartbreak." He asked the public to continue praying for "Molly, his 3 kids, and our family as we try to learn to live with this loss." Mayor Davis concluded the statement by thanking those who attended and those who had reached out.

The commission did not take action related to the statement; the mayor said he had nothing more to report and the meeting proceeded to routine committee updates.
