Alyssa Woody, Bradley County's director of tourism, told commissioners the tourism office is offering two complimentary tickets per commissioner to a local production of the musical "1776," and urged elected officials to attend this coming weekend. "You can get it on YouTube... You can get two complimentary tickets a piece," she said, directing commissioners to a QR code on a handout and noting the website 1776.show and a code printed on the flyer for ticket access.
Woody listed five showtimes: Thursday and Friday evenings, Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m., and said the production is a benefit fundraiser for Art Is Your Partnership produced by Bangorang Production (as spoken in the meeting). She described the cast as 24 men who have invested many hours in rehearsals and encouraged commissioners to attend.
A commissioner who had attended the production praised its historical portrayal and the performers' commitment, saying the show made him "fall in love with history" and noting the personal sacrifices of some performers. Commissioners then moved through routine committee reports: the EMS committee will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11 in the commission room and the education committee will meet April 1 at 11 a.m. The chair announced there were no agenda items for this session and opened public comment; no members of the public spoke.
