Mount Clemens commission approves paddle-sport concession, routine invoices and consent items

The Mount Clemens City Commission approved a concession agreement with Simple Adventures LLC and completed routine financial and consent business during its Nov. 16 meeting.

A motion to enter into a one-year concession agreement with Simple Adventures LLC to operate paddle-boat and paddle-board rentals on city premises from Jan. 1, 2016 through Dec. 31, 2016 passed by roll call vote. Staff said the contractor is responsible for maintenance and cleaning of restrooms at the boathouse, must carry liability insurance naming the city as an additional insured, and the agreement may be terminated by either party with 30 days' written notice. During discussion a commissioner asked whether renters themselves would be covered; staff said the contractor must indemnify the city and its insurance would defend claims brought by third parties.

The commission also approved purchases and payment of invoices and approved the consent agenda by roll call votes. The meeting record shows the votes as recorded by the clerk; no dissenting votes were announced on these items at the meeting.
