At the start of the Mount Clemens City Commission meeting, the commission presented the City of Mount Clemens local treasurer award to Nancy Donahue for decades of volunteer service. Commissioner Menser (S7) read the nomination outlining Donahue’s work with Edison Elementary School’s PTA, as a Girl Scout leader, her 28 years at the local YMCA, efforts to help low-income residents access memberships, the nursery program she started, and leadership of the Mount Clemens beautification committee and historic-home plaque program.
Commissioners and other speakers praised Donahue’s long-standing civic contributions. The award citation declared her local treasurer for February 2019 in recognition of her “positive and lasting legacy” to Mount Clemens. The commission offered congratulations and noted her role as an example for other residents.
