The Mount Clemens City Commission approved purchases and payment of invoices as presented and recorded the affirmation on roll call, city minutes show.
During discussion Commissioner Menser commended the use of a local business, saying the city was "using Pinnacle contracting, a local Mount Clemens business." City staff did not report any objections to the reported invoices or request further review before the vote.
In the city manager’s report, staff congratulated Mount Clemens High School students for winning awards at the Michigan Student Broadcast Awards and said awards will be received at the Great Lakes Media Show in Atlanta on March 6. Staff also reported the city declared a snow emergency during the most recent storm and outlined where residents can find declarations (local TV stations, the city website, Facebook and kiosks near Mount Clemens schools). The administration welcomed Jerry Punck as a new maintenance worker in the utilities department.
Commissioner Menser also announced a $50,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ Children with Special Needs Fund (Roland M. Gerstacker Foundation) to help families with home accessibility modifications and adaptive equipment; he provided application deadlines and said no local match is required. The commission set a next meeting date and adjourned.
