Mayor Youth Council member urges Draper City high schoolers to apply

A member of the Mayor Youth Council announced that the application period for this year’s Mayor Youth Council opens soon and urged eligible high school students to apply.

The member said the program is open to Draper City residents who are in grades 9 through 12 and who maintain a 3.0 grade-point average, and directed interested students to the Mayor Youth Council page on the Draper City website for application details.

The member described the council as an opportunity to learn to interact with people in the community and with peers, saying the experience “encourages you to get out there and just help people,” and adding, “It’s awesome.”

She urged, “I encourage, like, every high school student to apply,” and closed by thanking listeners and repeating that more information is available on the city website.
