Trustee Tammy Brown told the Dolton Board of Trustees during committee reports that the village has rolled out an employee engagement survey to the housing and police departments and will roll it out to the public works department next week, with the fire department to follow.
Brown said the purpose of the survey is to “find out what’s going on in our departments” and to learn “what our people, employees are thinking, what their wants and needs are,” so leaders can use the results to improve village operations. She said the village will share survey results with department heads once all units have completed the rollout.
Brown also told the board that the planning and zoning committee has retained an outside consultant for a short-term engagement to support work by the planning board and zoning committee. She said the consultant has been hired for “a couple of months” but that the committee is waiting for the consultant to confirm availability so the meeting date can be posted; the meeting date was not specified.
No motions, votes, or formal actions on either the survey rollout or the planning-and-zoning consultant were recorded in the segments provided. The matters were reported as committee updates and will proceed to scheduling and follow-up by staff and committee chairs.
