The Mount Clemens City Commission approved a three‑year concession agreement with Simple Adventures on July 6, authorizing the mayor and clerk (or city manager) to sign the contract.
Community Development Director Bridal Tingley explained the three‑season agreement would cover 2020 through 2022 and include a $1,500 rental fee that covers all three years. He noted the city’s Jones Street reconstruction grant has been recommended for funding but the legislature has not yet appropriated the grant, so construction is likely in 2021 or 2022. The extended term is intended to carry Simple Adventures through that period.
“In 2019, they did bring in approximately $2,900 in revenue for rentals related to the city,” Tingley said, noting a $500 annual rental fee remains in the contract for certain activities. The agreement includes a 30‑day written termination clause.
The commission moved to approve the contract and to authorize the mayor and city clerk to sign. The motion carried on roll call.
Next steps: administration will execute the contract and monitor impacts during Jones Street reconstruction.
