At its March 2 meeting the Mount Clemens City Commission carried several motions by roll-call vote.
The commission adopted the agenda as presented and approved minutes for the February 18 work session and regular meeting.
By motion the commission approved a resolution urging the Detroit Zoological Society to consider Mount Clemens and Clinton Township as potential locations for the proposed Great Lakes Center for Nature; the resolution instructed staff to forward the signed resolution to the Detroit Zoo leadership, Macomb County officials and state legislators for consideration.
The commission also voted to appoint Donald D. Johnson to the position of city manager and city administrator and approved his employment agreement. After the vote, Johnson introduced himself and members of his family to attendees.
Finally, the commission voted to approve purchases and payment of invoices as presented; commissioners noted that several renewals had been secured at prior prices and that the fire department's new radios were purchased with grant funding obtained by department staff.
All recorded votes in the meeting passed with the commissioners present voting in the affirmative, according to the meeting record.
