The Mount Clemens City Commission on June 1 tabled consideration of a proposed 12-month consolidated IT support contract with High-tech System Services, Inc. (HITECH), after commissioners sought clarification about service inclusions and staffing hours.
City staff presented a proposal to combine three existing agreements into one 12-month contract at the current cost of $4,138.51 per month. Commissioners raised questions about whether remote backup monitoring and 8-to-5 remote-support services listed in the written statement of work were represented in the pricing table, and whether the contract’s stated "TEC A RE staffing 6 hours per week" carries forward if hours are unused.
A commissioner asked for written confirmation that remote backup monitoring and the stated remote-support hours are included; administration said it would confirm and provide answers. Another commissioner asked whether the contract is paid monthly regardless of hours used; staff clarified it is a monthly contract rather than an hourly billing arrangement but could not answer historical overages that night.
After those questions, a motion to table the HITECH service agreement until the June 15 commission meeting was made and approved by the commission to allow staff to confirm contract details.
Next steps: staff will confirm scope details (backup monitoring, remote-support hours and carry-forward policy) and provide that information at or before the June 15 meeting.
