State Board fails to adopt support for LB 1224 after debate on child-safety amendment

Opponents noted the executive committee had not taken a position and that the committee's prior review was incomplete; after discussion the roll-call vote tied 4 yes, 4 no and the motion failed.

The board did not change its position on LB 1224 at the meeting. Members asked staff to monitor the bill and provide additional background on the amendment and implementation implications as it moves through the legislature.
