Bronx Day in Albany — a daylong showcase of Bronx business, culture and community — will return to the state capital in less than two weeks, event organizers announced at a press conference at the New York Botanical Garden.
Organizers say the immersive expo at the Albany Capital Center will include leadership panels, state-agency workshops and networking designed to connect Bronx entrepreneurs, nonprofits and creatives directly with state decision-makers. "It’s about access to resources, partnerships, and real economic opportunity," a reporter said during the announcement, summarizing the sponsors’ message.
The return marks the event’s first appearance in more than a decade. "We have been in hiatus for 10 years, and in those 10 years, the borough has grown, has established itself on a higher level. All eyes are on us," a presenter said, framing the revival as a response to the Bronx’s recent development and growth. The reporter credited Senator Natalia Fernandez with reviving the conference to reestablish a statewide platform for Bronx advocacy and funding discussions.
Speakers emphasized the event’s economic agenda. A presenter highlighted priorities including economic development, tourism and local jobs; another said major private-sector participation—citing JPMorgan’s presence—signals industry interest. "A major financial institution like JPMorgan showing up just says, you know, exactly what it is...We're here to help," a presenter said.
Event organizers also announced that the Bronx Children’s Museum is among this year’s Changemaker nominees. Organizers said more than 600 Bronx businesses and organizations are expected to participate to share information and opportunities with state officials and potential partners.
Organizers described the visit to Albany as advocacy: attendees will make the case that the Bronx is an "important, vibrant economic engine" that deserves investment commensurate with other New York City boroughs. One presenter who previously worked on the event as a staffer said the borough had "bloomed" and that reviving the event was necessary to sustain that momentum.
The press conference closed with logistical information for attendees; the reporter directed listeners to a link for more details and signed off, "Reporting for BronxNet, Britney Schuyler." The event is scheduled to take place at the Albany Capital Center; further scheduling and registration details were not specified at the conference.
