At its March meeting the Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine contracts, appointments and purchases spanning multiple departments.
Key approvals included a $58,178.70 furniture purchase for Children & Youth Services, a $48,430 contract with the Stonewall Group for ramp and door work at the 911 Annex (paid from the 2024 general obligations bond), and a $57,783 work order with McGill Plumbing for correctional facility exhaust ductwork and commissioning to be paid from insurance funds. Commissioners also approved renewal and provider agreements for human services and children and youth programs: a $49,000 renewal with SPHS Connect for permanent housing services (funded by Act 13), a $50,000 provider agreement with Family Pathways for foster care placement, and an addendum increasing Perseus House residential treatment authorization to $450,000 — all motions were seconded and passed on roll call.
The board adopted a resolution designating Dan Harvey as the project officer and signatory for the Washington County HMGP Hazard Mitigation Planning Process and approved the appointment of William Evans to the SWPA Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council. Legal agreements approved included a $50,000-per-year contract with attorney Harrison P. Graydon for PCRA filings and a $200-per-month arrangement with attorney Frank Arcuri to provide solicitor services for the prothonotary's office.
Other items approved: travel and training for the coroner's deputy ($350 seminar in State College), authorization to advertise for design-build services for parking-garage repairs and office space for MDJ Canales, termination of a lease for MDJ Porter effective Feb. 21, 2026, a six-month relocation lease for MDJ quarters totaling $14,207.20, and authorization to purchase a 2026 Ford F-350 diesel truck outfitted for parts (purchase cost as stated in the record appears garbled; funding to come from gas and oil funds).
Roll calls recorded affirmative votes on the motions; the meeting record shows the items were approved without further public debate. The board also acknowledged receipt of a right-of-way plan for the Sharpeers number 64 bridge project and authorized staff to proceed with next procurement steps where applicable.
Next step: Departments will execute contracts and follow purchasing and procurement processes; staff indicated follow-up reporting and implementation as required by departmental procedures.
