During its Sept. 19 session the Portage County Board of Commissioners approved a series of mainly procedural motions and roll-call votes covering grants, contracts, procurement, and account corrections.
Key approved items included:
- A subgrant agreement with Portage County Jobs and Family Services for Ohio early intervention services coordination and outreach.
- Amendment No. 1 with the Northeast Ohio Consortium Council of Governments and Family Community Services Inc. for comprehensive case management and employment programming, and a workforce innovation fund subgrant involving the Portage Development Board.
- Re-advertisement and proposal schedules for an RFP for prevention, retention, and contingency family support services for the Portage County Department of Jobs and Family Services.
- An amendment with Humble Construction for a CDBG sidewalk ADA project in the Village of Manaway and authorization to sign Amendment No. 3 for the 2022 CDBG allocation grant as presented by the Orange County Home Commission.
- An emergency water interconnection agreement with the city of Town and a one-year contract with Software Solutions Inc. to supply updated billing software for the County Water Resources Department.
- Authorized refunds for two customer accounts (one refund of $422.04 covering 05/20/2024–08/30/2024 and one refund of $407.99 covering 12/26/2023–08/27/2024) as recommended by Water Resources Director Daniel Blakely.
- A correction to a collective bargaining appendix to adjust the hourly wage for a Design Tech position (step adjustment from $28.69 to $28.70) after staff detected a $0.01/hour underpayment.
All listed items were moved, seconded and approved by roll call; the transcript records affirmative votes from the commissioners called during each roll call.
