County staff updated the Morrow County commissioners on facilities work slated for the Board of Elections building and on related IT infrastructure planning.
Jamie told the board that bid approvals will allow the county to advance to procurement and that the renovation project for the Board of Elections space is set to begin this week. Jamie said staff do not expect disruptions to services and noted that they emailed building heads and stakeholders in advance.
Jamie also said the team is assessing a separate estimate for a dedicated server room and that reuse of metal studs from a nearby work area should yield cost savings. The staff estimate aims for completion by June, and Jamie said they would inspect the space with staff members and coordinate scheduling to limit service impact.
At a later point in the meeting Jamie added that capital budget requests are due March 12 and that a phone meeting with Senator Ryan is planned; staff indicated an expected turnover on work in early April and emphasized the need to separate two server rooms for operations.
The transcript does not record contract values, vendor names or a firm construction schedule beyond target months; commissioners approved prior procedural motions to allow the project to proceed.
