Port St. Joe board approves development order request for Rainier Colleges / Saint Clair Molina Colleges LLC

The Port St. Joe Plant Belt View Board approved a development order request for Rainier Colleges / Saint Clair Molina Colleges LLC at its April 10 meeting, moving the application forward after staff said the proposal was consistent with earlier approvals.

Clay Murphy of Southeastern Consulting Engineering identified himself for the record and said, “I was really just here to answer any questions you might have.” Murphy told the board the project had previously received an FUD and that “I don't think anything has changed conceptually.”

Board members asked brief questions about details and compliance with prior approvals. A motion to approve the development order was made and seconded; the board voted in favor, with one member recorded as abstaining during the vote.

The meeting record will include a previously filed memorandum of voting conflict for Chairman Riggs from March 7, 2024, as noted earlier in the session. The board did not specify additional conditions on the development order during the meeting.

Next steps: staff will finalize the administrative record and the approved development order will be processed per the city’s normal permitting procedures.
