Garrett Foreman, representing Toyota Field and the Rocket City Trash Pandas, presented a season review to the Madison City Council on March 30, highlighting non-baseball community events, charitable work and planned fan-experience investments.
Foreman described an expanded slate of free events (movie nights, business mixers, trunk-or-treat) and community programming (a barbecue festival, concert series and youth and high-school baseball events). He said the club donated more than $50,000 in its second year to North Alabama nonprofits and cited accomplishments including Southern League attendance rankings and several players who made major-league debuts.
On operations and city finances, Foreman told council that the team paid just over $1 million to the city during the year and that the club will write a check to cover the remaining balance, which he stated in the meeting record as $596,944.23. Foreman also described upcoming stadium enhancements including inflatable family activities in the outfield, a 150-square-foot LED display in the plaza, a mural by a local artist, a frozen-yogurt concession and a local beer garden.
Council members thanked the team for community engagement and noted the economic and civic partnership with Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Alabama and other local sponsors. The presentation was informational; no council action was required.
Provenance: Presentation and Q&A in council chambers; Foreman answered questions and confirmed the outstanding payment would be delivered to the city this week.
