Island County commissioners approved Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with Bridgeview Consulting to finish the county's hazard mitigation plan, the Board heard.
Fred Sonardy, Island County Public Works Director, presented the supplemental agreement and said questions raised at the Feb. 18 work session about an additional $23,960 and a 12‑month increase were resolved because "that additional funding is included in the original grant of $183,400," meaning the cost can be billed to unused capacity in the existing grant, he said. Sonardy asked the board to sign the agreement so the contract could be processed.
Commissioner Johnson confirmed the additional funding would come from the grant, not from other county allocations, and said she was "very comfortable." Commissioner Johnson moved approval of Supplemental Agreement No. 1; the motion was seconded and approved by the board.
The supplemental agreement includes annex updates to the hazard mitigation plan and extends the contract timeline; Public Works will return any final deliverables to the board as appropriate.
