Select Board approves $575,000 contract for townwide comprehensive plan and names Paul Warren to steering group

Planning Director Kara Bruton presented a request to contract with Agency Landscape and Planning to prepare a comprehensive plan for the Town of Brookline. Bruton said the RFP process produced three strong proposals and the selection committee recommended Agency based on interviews and references; the consultant team includes Grayscale Collaborative, NS Associates, McMahon Bowman, RKG Associates and Utile Architects.

Bridal Hensold, principal and cofounder of Agency, and Annie Streetman, Agency project manager, introduced the team. Bruton asked the board to consider appointing one Select Board member to a steering group to work with the planning board on civic engagement; the board designated Paul Warren as the Select Board’s representative.

Chair Green moved approval of the $575,000 contract and the board voted unanimously in favor. Bruton said the consultants will return with a proposed public-engagement schedule after the May elections and that the Select Board will confirm wider steering-group membership at a future meeting.
