South Beloit swears in Scott Fisher as fire chief

Mayor Eric Fitzgerald administered a swearing‑in ceremony for Scott Fisher, who pledged to support the constitutions of the United States and the State of Illinois and to faithfully discharge the duties of fire chief for the City of South Beloit.

The oath was completed in front of council members and attendees; Mayor Fitzgerald and other officials welcomed Fisher and expressed appreciation for his willingness to lead the fire department. The council had earlier noted the city’s favorable fire pension funding and recent personnel work that led to filling the chief position.

The ceremony concluded with short remarks welcoming Fisher aboard. No formal vote was required for the ceremonial swearing in; the council moved on to subsequent agenda items.
