At its March 5 meeting, the Beauregard Parish School Board voted to adopt Budget Revision No. 1 for the fiscal year ending 2026.
The board moved and seconded the motion and the chair called for the ayes; the motion carried. The revision was presented as aligning revenues and expenditures with the approved budget and to ensure proper year‑end processing of grant and general‑fund purchases.
A district finance staff member thanked the board and noted a separate recognition: the parish has been chosen to apply for a Business of Excellence award for financial and operational practices. On current finances, the staff member said revenues and expenditures “are tracking in line with the approved budget” and described purchasing deadlines to ensure grant and Ad Valorem purchases are received in time.
The finance staff flagged an anomaly in sales‑tax collections, reporting an increase in district account '66' and a decrease in '90' that was larger than the typical 10% variance between the two. The staff member said a reconciliation spreadsheet from the sheriff’s office will be used to investigate and the board will revisit the numbers next month.
No roll‑call tallies were read into the record; the chair asked for ayes and announced the motion passed.
