The Beauregard Parish School Board approved multiple job‑description changes at its March 5 meeting, including a new behavioral interventionist position and the addition of a Personnel Secretary 3 classification to address state reporting requirements.
Miss Frank, who presented the personnel items, said the behavioral interventionist is a new permanent position to replace long‑term substitutes who have been performing those duties and that the specialists travel across the parish to support particularly autistic students. The board voted to approve the behavioral interventionist job description.
The board also approved a revision to the public information officer job description to add district testing‑coordinator responsibilities and to make that person the website and social‑media coordinator. At the same time, the supervisor of auxiliary services job description had testing responsibilities removed and redistributed to reflect the change.
Miss Frank explained Personnel Secretary 3 is being added because state reporting now requires detailed data entry — down to minutes worked by each employee — and more frequent Louisiana State Police‑led background‑check certification. The board adopted Personnel Secretary 3 and approved the associated revisions to Personnel Secretary 1 and 2 so those positions reflect the redistributed duties.
Chair asked for clarification on whether these changes would increase personnel counts. A district staff member (Mister Holler) said only two new positions were added today — Personnel Secretary 3 and the behavioral interventionist — and indicated that responsibilities may be shifted among existing secretaries rather than creating multiple new hires.
All job‑description items were approved by voice vote as presented.
