On dress code, Lampson said committee members heard concerns that strictly measured knee‑length shorts are difficult for some families to source and recommended using “approximate” to avoid requiring administrators to measure children precisely.

Board members discussed enforcement challenges and disparities in available shorts across student groups, and agreed that granting administrators discretion is preferable to a strict measurement requirement. The chair called for a motion to approve the committee recommendations; the board voted with no opposition and the motion carried.
