Council accepts donation of two scoreboards for Ellerbrooke Field

The council unanimously accepted a generous donation of two scoreboards from the Ellerbrooke family (order 26.017) for Ellerbrooke Field, which was named for longtime Parks & Recreation Director Ray Ellerbrooke.

Parks & Recreation staff described the family's long history of giving to fields and facilities, noting past gifts including storage sheds, playground rebuilding and pickleball courts. "They established an Ellbrook fund through golf tournament fundraisers to keep his spirit going," the director said.

Councilors praised the Ellerbrooke family for continued investment in public amenities and approved acceptance under council rules.

What's next: Parks & Recreation will coordinate installation and recognition details with the family and provide the council an acknowledgement and logistics timing.
