At the meeting the chair opened the floor for annual officer elections. A member nominated Bob to remain chairman; the nomination was seconded and the board approved keeping the current slate of officers by voice vote.
The superintendent asked to surplus a 1998 four-wheel-drive (serial JJ0258552) after purchasing a new John Deere; Mayor Miller moved to approve the request, the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Members also discussed funds tied to the bypass sewer and lift-station program and emphasized the need to spend the money within the program guidelines or return it. The board authorized the superintendent to look for and purchase a used dump truck while staying under the $40,000 bid limit. The authorization was made by motion, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Other procedural items included reminders about a chamber lunch on March 12 and a request that members review the seven-month financial report ending Jan. 31. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn.
Why it matters: the motions keep routine municipal operations moving — officer continuity, fleet management, and use of program funds for infrastructure work — and the dump-truck authorization uses the municipality’s lower competitive-bid threshold for used equipment.
