The Bluff Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously March 5 to adopt its 2026 goals, making a comprehensive zoning-code rework and improved enforcement the top priorities for the year.
Chair Malia Collins presented a draft that placed the zoning-code rework and enforcement (including a code review to align with town council priorities) at the top of the list. Commissioners endorsed trimming the goal list so the code rework could be the primary focus for the year.
Other recommended priorities and suggestions that commissioners asked staff to track include professional development for commissioners, site visits to build local context into code decisions, exploration of affordable-housing options within the commission’s local scope, and flood-resilience mapping and guidelines. Commissioners noted that some tasks could be multi-year and that code edits related to RV occupancy and lot-size/sewer availability would be addressed as part of the rework.
The motion to adopt the goals was moved, seconded and approved with unanimous support. Staff will return proposed work plans and timelines to the commission as the code-review process advances.
