Lemoore 2d Michelle Weiser, president of L'Amour BMX and Framework Racing, told the City Council that the club 27s recent state qualifier brought hundreds of competitors and significant local traffic to town.
"We had on Saturday's event ... we had 693 participants," Weiser said, adding that the event generated roughly 1,600 check-ins and drew families from as far north as Eureka and as far south as Bakersfield. Weiser said riders ranged in age from about 2 to 65 and that the track offers weekly races as a community program.
Weiser walked the council through pages of a post-event report, citing visitor destinations before and after the race: "Maverick had 221 visitors that day. Best Western Lemoore, 170. Home to Sweets in Lemoore, 130," and noted multiple restaurants, hotels and retail locations that saw measurable visits. She described how the data were compiled (phone-location check-ins and other outlets) and said it reflects only devices that opted into location tracking.
Weiser said spectating is free, first-time riders get a one-day trial, and membership fees are handled through USA BMX while the track retains race fees and sponsorships. "It's free to spectate," she said, noting that local volunteers and coaches sustain the weekly programs.
Council members praised the volunteer effort and asked about site stability and long-term plans; Weiser said she and her team have run the Lemoore track since about 2015, built the facility starting in 2014 and plan to continue operating it as long as they remain in the area. She said the club aims to work with the Chamber and city to improve event advertising.
The council offered to list the event on city channels and to include the organizer on community outreach as the club finalizes its website and promotional plan. No action was required of the council.
