Escambia County board approves contractor license applications and a reinstatement request

During the March 4 meeting the Escambia County Contractor Competency Board approved multiple licensing items on the agenda. Staff recommended approval for examinations and reciprocity where documentation supported prior licensing and experience.

Applicants approved included Dalton Walker Hike for residential contractor examination (documentation of 14 years’ experience and Maryland MHIC records), Melissa Freeman for reciprocity (previous testing in Santa Rosa County and submitted competency card and insurances) and Billy Gray for reciprocity of an Okaloosa County sprinkler/irrigation license. Board members moved and seconded motions and approved each application by voice vote.

The board also took up an add-on reinstatement request for Brian David Erdman for a delinquent doors, windows and siding license (DWS0087) that lapsed in 2017. Staff confirmed submission of the reinstatement application, updated business tax receipt and clear criminal/financial history; the board approved reinstatement contingent on payment of required fees.

A separate licensing-related item (a proposal to add an employment/subcontractor verification form to packets for long-expired licenses) received direction from the board to add that form to future application packets.
