Program managers and Tennessee Titans staff gave a project and facilities update covering design milestones, early construction packages, procurement outreach and near‑term capital work at Nissan Stadium.
Program managers reported that 100% design development drawings have been submitted and that additional CD sets (including a 25% CD and a 50% CD set) are on the project schedule. They said several early‑release packages have been issued and vetted, including early site work, vertical transportation (elevators/escalators), electrical gear, deep foundations and other scopes. Third‑party testing contracts were awarded to Terracon and GTA, and demolition and fall‑arrest procurements are in late stages with award recommendations expected.
Construction of the Titans House in Germantown is underway and is expected to be substantially complete by the end of next month, staff said. Key permitting milestones mentioned included mass excavation (submitted Dec. 1) and deep foundations/underground utility applications (submitted Jan. 26); the full building permit will follow final 100% documents.
On inclusion and outreach, staff said DBE reporting will transition to a new platform (b2gNow) to track DBE utilization in real time. The prime selected for mass excavation projected 37% DBE participation on that scope, above the business assistance office goal of 35%.
Shannon Myers, chief financial officer for the Titans, outlined three anticipated capital items for the current stadium: fire safety/security upgrades with a quote of $45,400; concrete step repairs (inventory and estimated cost around $100,000); and purchase of two large LED trailers plus six portable LED message boards (approx. $96,000) to help manage fan egress and ingress during ongoing campus construction.
Budget figures in the project report show period-to-date spending of $14,774,728 against a project budget reference of $104,529,489 for the reporting period ending in January.
Board members asked about reuse or transfer of temporary equipment when the new stadium opens; staff said transfers, Metro auctions or retention by the authority will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Program managers encouraged early DBE engagement and described planned outreach (merged procurement sites and pre-bid office hours) to facilitate participation.
