Rep. Bradley asks committee to postpone e-bike safety bill; measure tabled unanimously

Representative Bradley introduced a House bill he described as intended to make children and other road users safer from high‑speed electric bicycles and scooters, then withdrew the measure by asking the committee to postpone it indefinitely.

"With terrible regret for public safety and the children of Colorado, I'm going to have to PI my own bill," Representative Bradley said, explaining he had worked with a range of stakeholders but could not reach agreement with lobby partners.

Vice Chair Stewart moved to postpone the bill indefinitely; the motion was seconded and the committee clerk conducted a roll call. The committee approved the postponement unanimously, 12–0.

The committee did not take further testimony on the measure after the sponsor's request, and the item was recorded as postponed indefinitely.
