House perfects several shorter measures on certifications and professional exams

Several noncontroversial bills were presented and perfected on the floor. Representative from Callaway (S16) moved to perfect House Bill 29 28 to add the United States Concealed Carry Association to entities whose training may qualify instructors to teach concealed-carry classes; sponsors said the association’s training parallels existing approved programs and local sheriff-registration systems maintain instructor lists.

Representative Washington (S40) presented House Bill 17 97, which expands qualifying pathways to sit for the CPA exam (alternative credit/practice pathways) and was presented as a means of encouraging more candidates to enter the accounting profession. Both measures were reported from committee with broad support and were ordered perfected and printed.
