The Lake Stevens Civil Service Commission on April 11 voted to certify the police records specialist continuous testing eligibility list after oral boards produced three passing candidates, the commission heard.
Julie Good, the city’s senior human resources specialist and chief examiner, told commissioners that eight candidates were scheduled for oral boards: "one canceled the day before, two no‑shows, two failed and three passed," and those three will be added to the current eligibility list, bringing the total to six. Good said that under civil service rules the police records supervisor can consider the top five candidates plus one for the vacancy.
Commissioner Bridal McManus moved to approve the eligibility list and Commissioner Ray Mitchell seconded. The commission voted in favor and the motion to certify the list passed. Good said staff would forward candidate applications and information to the records supervisor so command interviews and background checks could begin; she estimated interviews would start early the next week and that offers could follow within a couple of weeks.
The certified list allows the records supervisor to schedule command interviews and proceed with background investigations; commissioners did not ask for further delay or additional testing during the meeting.
The commission took no other formal action on the item during the session.
