Community Services Commission elects Margie Lancaster chair and Fuentes vice chair

The Lake Forest City Community Services Commission unanimously elected Margie Lancaster as its next chair and Commissioner Fuentes as vice chair during the March 4, 2026 meeting.

Chair Bruton nominated his vice chair, Margie Lancaster, citing her leadership experience; Commissioner Jones seconded the nomination. With no additional nominees, the commission voted via the on-screen voting system and elected Lancaster by unanimous vote. Lancaster said, “I’ll do my best this coming year.” Lancaster will assume the chair role at the commission’s next regularly scheduled meeting on April 8.

Nominations for vice chair followed. Commissioner Herron nominated Commissioner Fuentes, a second was offered, and the commission again voted unanimously. The commission secretary announced the results and congratulated both commissioners.

The nominations and elections are part of the commission’s annual reorganization process; the deputy city manager had told commissioners the newly selected officers will begin their duties at the next meeting.

There were no public comments on these items and the meeting continued to other business.
