Commission approves $250,000 stormwater asset-management package (loan + grant)

The Fall River City sewer and stormwater commission approved a $250,000 stormwater asset-management package that staff described as a $50,000 loan and $200,000 grant to support asset management work.

Paul Furlan said the department has completed some preparatory work and that the item would get underway if approved. Furlan said work to date was preliminary and that the planned scope would be implemented after contract adjustments.

Commissioners asked whether the city would need an addendum to the existing contractor agreement; Furlan confirmed an addendum would be required to expand services. A commissioner moved to approve the stormwater asset-management proposal for $250,000; the motion was seconded and the Chair called the voice vote and announced the motion passed.

The package is intended to support stormwater asset management activities; Furlan did not provide a detailed project list during the discussion and said some lead-up work had already been done.
