School committee approves parent-involvement policy, community-involvement procedure and names audit committee members

At its March 4, 2026 meeting the Auburn School Committee approved two items of business on second reading and completed several administrative appointments before entering executive session.

Chair moved to approve policy AUB KB (Parent Involvement in Education) for a second reading; the motion was seconded and the transcript records "motion carries." The committee then moved to approve procedure AUB KCB (Community Involvement in Decision Making) on second reading; the motion carried as recorded in the minutes. No roll-call vote tally was recorded in the transcript.

Under new business, the chair nominated Dan Poisson and Adam Platts to serve on the city of Auburn audit committee. Nominations were seconded and the committee voted to appoint both. The chair then moved the committee into executive session under 1 MRSA §405(6)(A) for evaluation of officials, appointees and employees; the motion was seconded and the committee entered executive session.
