Butler told trustees on March 4 that Lancaster ISD followed its instructional materials adoption cycle and teacher review committees to select high‑quality instructional materials for 2026–27. She referenced the State Board of Education’s IMRA process and a House bill shown on the slide as part of the materials‑approval framework.
The recommended products listed in the presentation include early‑grade phonics and English language arts programs, Spanish language‑arts materials, a suite of K–12 and secondary math products (including supplemental options), AP world history and AP curricula, and CTE materials such as cosmetology/barbering and ProStart culinary programs. Butler said renewals will be reviewed annually for usage, effectiveness and alignment with curriculum.
Financial note: Butler said costs for products exceeding $100,000 are hyperlinked in the materials packet and that the district will use IMTA/SBOE/OER entitlement funding, local CTE funds, compensatory education, Title funding and grants to cover adoption and renewal costs.
Next steps: Butler asked the board to review the linked recommendations; she said adopted materials would be placed into classrooms for 2026–27 if and when the board approves them.
