Council accepted an immediate resignation from patrolman Robert Lindsey and authorized advertising for the full-time vacancy and beginning civil-service procedures to update the eligibility list. "We have received a resignation request from patrolman Robert Lindsey effective immediately," a staff member told council; members then moved to accept the resignation and directed advertising for the vacancy.
The council approved hiring Ken Gieris and Joshua Sportelli as light-equipment operators for Public Works following interviews and committee recommendation. Council also authorized advertising specifications for road-material bids in conjunction with neighboring municipal authorities; the advertisement must be submitted to the paper on Monday.
Event permits and support were approved: the Paw Prints on the Canal event (06/14/2026) was honored for use of Canal Street Park; a snorkeling program in Canal Park (08/14/2026) by Northampton County Parks and the Wildlands Conservancy was approved with organizers responsible for participant signups and waivers; and the school district’s request for fire-police assistance at high-school commencement (May 29) was granted. Council also nominated and approved Mayor Tony Prestach as the borough delegate to the annual PSAB conference.
