The Lake Forest Planning Commission unanimously approved a use permit allowing YoYo Golf to sell beer on the premises of its Vista Terrace golf simulation facility, staff reported at the March 5 meeting.
Planner Sierra Mara Solis said the business operates in an existing ~8,029 square‑foot space in a Vista Terrace business park and seeks a Type 40 license from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for on‑site beer service only. Staff told the commission the business would confine alcohol to interior areas, train employees in responsible service and ID verification, and not permit off‑sale; staff recommended a condition explicitly prohibiting off‑sale and requiring a security plan if problems arise.
No public comments were received on the item. Commissioners briefly discussed the request and one commissioner said, in support, that "beer goes great with golf." The commission moved, seconded and voted unanimously to approve the use permit as conditioned.
Staff noted there have been no reported problems since the business began operating in 2024 and that no exterior modifications are proposed.
