Design Review Commission elects new chair and vice chair, agrees on subcommittee volunteers

Walnut Creek — The Walnut Creek Design Review Commission on March 4 elected new leadership and handled a few administrative items before hearing a design review study session.

During the meeting commissioners nominated and voted on new leadership. The first motion to elect a chair passed with a recorded tally of 4 yes, 0 no and 1 abstention; commissioners then rearranged seating to reflect the change. A subsequent vote to elect the vice chair passed unanimously, 5–0.

Staff also announced the March 18 agenda will include a proposal from Joy Bound for a pet‑daycare facility at the Shadelands campus. Commissioners volunteered for the commission’s sign subcommittee during the meeting.

The body adjourned after noting those administrative items and completing the Oceana design review study session.
