Staff from Glendale’s Sustainability Office presented a calendar of Earth Month activities at the March 5 commission meeting and requested volunteers.
Key events announced include an Earth Day Fair on April 4 with family activities, student booths and a mobile adoption unit; a combined clothing swap and repair cafe on April 18 at Grandview Library (10 a.m.–2 p.m.); a guided nature hike focused on native plants; a children’s clothing swap tied to toddler story time; and a citywide leaf‑blower outreach event on March 24 aimed at landscapers.
Staff asked for volunteers and directed interested people to glendaleca.gov/creativereuse for signups. They said they would attempt to coordinate hike start times with local shuttle service and would follow up on shuttle details for flyers.
The office also noted volunteer recruitment for event repair stations and emphasized waste‑reduction practices such as bringing reusable water bottles.
