DEI commission approves March candidates forum, names moderator

The Concord DEI Commission voted to approve its second annual DEI candidates forum, tentatively scheduled for March 26 at 5:30 p.m. in the Town House hearing room, and recommended Grant Hightower to moderate the event.

Rose Cratsley proposed the forum and said last year’s event was well received; she told commissioners she would like Grant Hightower to moderate again. Chair Andrea Posabella moved the motion to approve the candidates forum and moderator, which was seconded and approved by roll call.

Why it matters: Commissioners said the forum is an opportunity to engage candidates and voters on inclusion and equity issues ahead of local elections. The commission also discussed outreach logistics, including obtaining updated email addresses for candidates and sending invitations from town staff.

Vote and procedure: The motion was moved by Andrea Posabella and seconded from the floor; commissioners recorded assent in a roll-call vote and the motion passed. The commission will support outreach and administrative steps to ensure candidate contact information and invitations are distributed.
