Representatives of Advantage Aging Solutions and the Jefferson County Public Library told the board the county has cut ties with the prior Jefferson Senior Citizens organization and that Advantage is providing interim services, including home‑delivered meals and regular check‑in calls.
Lisa Bretz, the program director, said one vendor is currently owed roughly $25,000 and that Advantage is working to reconcile back pay to employees and vendors. Staff said a public hearing to lay out the organization’s plans and to inform residents is scheduled for April 1; commissioners agreed to share information on the county website and help publicize the hearing.
County staff also discussed location and equipment needs should Advantage move operations to an extension office; staff said an electrician and appliances (convection oven and refrigerator) will be evaluated and that initial costs will be identified in follow‑up communications. Advantage said it will send a formal invitation to the board and that library staff are assisting with interim meeting space and services.
What happens next: Advantage Aging Solutions will hold a public hearing on April 1; staff will work with Advantage and the library to identify space and needed equipment and to publicize services for seniors.
