The City of Bangor Planning Board postponed a proposed zone change for 26 Walter Street (Map Lot 025-143), submitted by NAHA LLC, after the applicant failed to appear at the March 3, 2026 meeting. Chair Jonathan Boucher said the item will be tabled to the board’s next meeting on March 17 and the board approved postponement by roll-call vote.
Chair Boucher had introduced the zone-change request earlier in the meeting: the proposal sought to rezone a roughly 0.11-acre parcel from Urban Service District to Urban Residence 2 District. The board discussed whether to wait in case the applicant joined late and ultimately agreed to postpone if the applicant did not attend.
Separately, Planning Officer Anya Collette announced outreach to inform the public about an upcoming round of land-development-code changes intended to comply with state laws. Collette said staff have posted to social media, issued a press release, and prepared outline language that will be available for review at the March 17 meeting.
The board’s decision to postpone the Walter Street item means the zone-change will next be considered on March 17, when public comment and staff presentations are expected to be available.
