During public comment, multiple parents of students at DC Prep PCS praised the school's staff and its communication with families.
"The thing that I enjoy most about, I say, the staff here at DC Prep is they're very hands on. They communicate. When my daughter is struggling, they reach out to let me know. When she's doing great, they reach out and let me know," said Brandon Warner, who identified himself as a father of a sixth-grade student, Bridal Walker.
Tanika McEachin, who said she has two children at the school, described DC Prep as a challenging and caring environment. "I love DC Prep because I feel like, the school challenges them," she said, adding that she has been involved "since day 1" and values how "responsive everyone is" and that "everyone is like family. It's like home."
Tasha McEachin and Charice Clayton each identified themselves and their children during the remarks. Tasha McEachin named Tamara McEachin and noted long-term involvement with the school; Charice Clayton said she has two daughters, Sydney and Riley Clayton.
Speakers emphasized frequent staff outreach to families about both struggles and successes and framed the school's approach as raising young leaders. "I support DC Prep because you are doing a remarkable job of raising our next generation leaders," Warner said.
No formal motions, votes, or policy changes were proposed during these remarks; the segment consisted of short public comments expressing support for the school.
